Match logicThe calculator applies Tier 1 to employee deferrals up to the first pay threshold, then applies Tier 2 to the next band of deferrals. Example: 100% of the first 3% plus 50% of the next 2% produces a maximum formula match of 4% of pay once the employee defers at least 5%. An optional dollar cap can further limit the employer match per participant.
